Satanists, apocalypse watchers and heavy metal guitarists may have to adjust their demonic numerology after a recently deciphered ancient biblical text revealed that 666 is not the fabled Number of the Beast after all.

So is June 1 2006 going to be the day of Satan?

(I don't get the whole 666 thing other than when we were teens it seemed cool...)

My son's fifth birthday was today. We ate at Hometown Buffet as it's where he wanted to go.

He's a wonderful kid.

I'm going to maybe get the Drawmer 1968 up tonight. I've been so busy getting my new room ready that I haven't eval'ed it yet. But, I'm starting now. pbanana.gif

Our youngest (of 4) is 20 in November.

Cinco de Mayo is the anniversary of when my wife finally ditched the jerk she was married to, and flew (into San Francisco) to me. That was 26 years ago... and went by awfully fast.

As for buying a house in SF... ohmygawdyoumustbecrazyorrich...

Our rat-trap in Orangevale CA (Sacramento) is now appraised at $389 (we paid $111). I can't qualify for my own house today.

well, we were planning on doing a TIC purchase, split the property with another couple with us at a 25% share.

so, our offer was 240k... not totally unreasonable compared to rent...

anwyay, the house went for 1.02 million CASH. not us.

I'm not suprised.

My friend ran one of the labs at Intel (Folsom), and decided he wanted out. He sold his house in Citrus Heights in two days, moved to South Carolina, and bought the same house back and depositied $200k into his bank account after paying for the house.

There is life outside of California, but it is hard convincing Californians of that.

yea, no kidding. SF is almost sensible in a way, if we got out bid accepted, we would be paying less than rent, and we already live decently enough. so yea, a $240k shack is somehow sane.

where cali gets really weird is if you head outside of the cities, in crappy central valley towns. job market isnt all that great. its not a pretty place to live. its just really expensive.
