Trying to find out about a little 10 channel mic pre 1 output mixer i stumbled across recently. No model number just 2 rack space unit with 10 micpreamps and one output amp. Dark gray finish with blue knobs, pretty basic. I would like to know more about this little piece of gear, if any one has used one or knows a bit more about them.

Any sort of indicator on the components as to module numbers? Control layout? Any sort of tagging/badging, like maybe if it was BBC equipment?

Some preliminaries: http://www.auroraaudio.net/dcforum/DCForumID1/44.html

I'm not sure if those are the same amp cards that Geoff speaks of - they're certainly IC based. Right now the Lab is acting funky, so I can't actually open any posts for content.

We aren't talking about 1073's here, but I imagine it doesn't suck, especially at that price. (Were you the winner?)

I asked Geoff Tanner of Aurora Audio about this and he replied:

I think that you'll find that the unit has the Neve name and logo on the front panel and a serial number plate at the rear with the Neve name.

Easy to figure who made it!

It was probably made for either CBS or NBC TV who Neve supplied consoles to... with audience reaction sub mixers for the audience response from overhead mics over the audience.
