First item was a Hafler P3000 power amp. I'd heard good things about these. I thought I'd give one a spin.

It was under $200 with a few minutes left. I thought it might be a bargain. But, I was wrong. It rose to $336. If you add in $30 shipping, then it exceeded another "Buy It Now" auction including shipping on this item by $36.

I did however win a DBX 242. These are getting harder and harder to find.

I waited until about 20 seconds left and put in my max bid of $125. I got it for $122.50. The bad news is that shipping is $20.

On the obsolete gear circuit, I can now claim to be a member of the Beyer Soundstar MKII club, the Aphex Dominator Model 700 club and the DBX 242.

Damn, Steve, I had that 242 for a minute right before the end of the auction! Oh well maybe some other time.

I did get a Stedman N90 dynamic mic this weekend. Pretty excited to try it out.

Also recently scored a Sennheiser MD 421 MkII and an EV 635a, so my mic collection is growing. I used the 635a this weekend for a live show I did sound for. I also did a radio interview two weeks ago with one. I think I'll try to get another. Very impressive mic!

The best purchase I've made recently though has been my first high quality American made acoustic guitar. A Taylor 414CE! I'm stoked!!! What a guitar! Now I can get some real quality recording done!!! .... yeh, right.... I did sell another acoustic, I just don't have room for all these instruments!
