Didn't check directly, but someone elsewhere posted about downloading the EV catalog,
and the RE16 is suspiciously absent.

So...

Probably a smart time to pick a nice one up used, before the prices go up ala MD421.

BTW am planning to get a brand new one, therefore no competition from me on ebay! biggrin.gif

Hell, did they kill the MD-421, or are you just speaking of the originals?

When EV chose between keeping the RE-15 or RE-16 in production years ago, I feel they made a mistake. Now another.

The MD3421 hasn't been made in years. The 421 II is not the same.

It would have been clearer saying "pre-MKII" 421's in the initial post. wink.gif
Used MD421 as a generic term.

Relative to the presence peak on a SM57, the one on the RE16 is pretty minor vs. the RE15 IMHO. Considering local performance in a duo for fun (think bookstore/cafe acoustic type).
