Hello all i'm looking to buy a mixer either a behringer, mackie, or yamaha and am wondering if the fx on these mixers are any good, or will I still need to get a good outboard fx processor?

I will be using it for home recording

Also which brand/model do you recommend. I'm looking to spend about 250.00

Thanks

Eric J.

depends on "good". if you have nothing else, then probably something is better than nothing, and therefore the effects are "good". however, in comparison to other ways to get these sort of effects, they are probably not that great.

you will probably outigrow them at some point, but at $250 or so... well, that isnt a totally crazy loss.

but if you are recording on a computer, you might just want to go with plug-ins and get as good of a mixer as you can afford without effects.

you could get this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...ssPageName=WDVW

then you have $125 left over for some effects... what kinda effects you lookin for?
