Why would a Canadian pro audio distributor need my social security number or tax ID number to send something to me here in Oklahoma, USA? Is this a legitimate request?

No freekin' way. I can't imagine any legitimate reason for that. I'd like to know thier explanation though.

Steve, I can say we ship TO Canada weekly and it's not required the other way around. I've bought from Canada before (individual sellers) and never had that requested of me.
