Peter Montessi of A Designs sent us his ATTY2'D demo that he used at NAMM. I've been switching this thing in and out of my monitoring path all night and wanted to share a few thoughts.

The ATTY2'D is 2 stereo and 2 mono (5.1 ready) channels of attenuation, each with individual mute and master mute in a 1RU box. It was designed for 5.1 monitoring but could do well for patching in multiple monitor setups as well. It's not a "switcher" mind you, but a damn clean place for your monitoring chain to call "home".

I just spent all night A/B'ing my monitor path with and without the ATTY2'D placed after my Lucid DA9624, B.L.U.E. Cranberry XLR cables and Mackie HR824's. I cannot find a fault with the sound of this unit. Depth of the sound field, high freq, low freq, transients, reverb, imaging...is all intact. The ATTY2'D adds nothing, and it takes nothing away.

I just had to spread the word on this box. I am amazed at how clean it is. I was almost LOOKING for a difference to find and it's just not there.

Steve...when these things start shipping you should contact Peter for a review!

Peter is a good man.

Hey, yet another product named after me. biggrin.gif

The ATTY 2d looks fairly interesting. I think Peter will sell a lot of them. He's a stickler for quality.
