Hi,

I'm looking at getting into digital recording with an M Audio unit. Having a hrd time telling if it would be worth it to get the 410 firewire for $400 or the audiohile firewre for about $200.

The 410 has slightly better specs and 4 in 10 out the cheaper one 4 in 6 out, don't think i'll need the extra outs, but is the quality that much better?

Any other recomendations?

thanks

I haven't used these particular units but I haven't noticed any significant differences in other M-Audio units despite differences in specs.

I'd get the one that you want in terms of connectivity and go from there.

M-Audio generally makes decent products. In the past, their customer support has been the absolute worst on the planet. I'm thinking this will improve with Digidesign owning them. I can get Digi to return my calls. I could never get the pre Digi M-Audio to even acknowledge my existence.
