Hello I just found my Bogen MXM - A today !

This is I'm pretty shure a in reatial store PA system / Bingo hall PA ect .

The 25 /70 volt thing on the back give this away 70 volt used fo runing long lines and also for many speakers as well.
this is as an eucated guess a 1960 - 7o's- unit having tubes stilli n it .
.
I hope to use as a mono amp for studio work with a guitar / bass preamp addedt it .
When I punch this unit up on Google I did find a site with this dude who has moded one of these so that yohavce have the mic pre working as independent channels this perks my interest up with unit if it possible and the cost is within reason and once the mods are done it studio quaility with the noise floor , I ll acept the noise floor of compareable to mic tube preamps just be fair.
One of you mentioned like an 80 DB gain level might be worth while mod using the unit to preamp ribbon mics that don' thave a whole lot of gain .
it could also be a beef up mic on some rock stuff or an ad some tone to your vocal if yo are after something maybe on the rougher side of things of maybe round of some of the high end on some of the low end mics as well.

i'm hoping to hear back on the mod guy and what it pretains in parts ect and cost.
Ihave a couple pf tech friends would could help me puti ttogether or IHave a tube amp repair guy maybe do th e projct long as he has some indepth plans for the project.
it the costi s like 100 - 150 bucks I might give it a go .
5 chanel of tube mic pre is kind of cool
I olny want to maybe do is ad in phatom power as well
