I edited this post. I felt it was unfair, and bits were just plain wrong.

It says that they rights have recently been reverted to the family, but that the family negotiated with Abilene? Was this negotiation prior to the reversal?

Confusing story. I think a good one basically.

What is this going to mean for Paul Simon? From Hayden to sSoweto, he tool serious liberties for years.

As for Seeger and his ilk. If Elizabeth Cotton weren't his family's cleaning lady...I still have issues with the itellectuals who subverted and gentrified folk music for their own elevation.

The appropriation of music of the downtrodden is one of the oldest stories in the industry.

On the wall right behind me is a poster from a show I worked with Charles Brown in '92, produced in part by Howell Begle. While Mr. Begle, did get money for many, including Mary Wells, this show was on the Vineyard. It was very much in the wake of Charles's work with Bonnie Raitt. For whom I have tremendous respect, regarding much. Including her work with many of the under-heralded greats from the past, such as Charles Brown.

His work in regarding pay for R&B musicians of the past is highly regarded.

Kind of went on a tangent sorry.

Easy to get sidetracked on this issue.
