Hey guys..

Where are you guys posting audio clips (probably MP3's) on the internet for a freebie..?

I'm not cheap, but I did a live gig a couple of months back where my business partner played and have a couple of songs I would like people to hear. I don't general have the need to post music very often and therefore it would be handy as a one off..

I have songs posted in various places for free.

Soundclick.com is one, and the ubiquitous MySpace.com.

MySpace does limit you to 4 songs though. Where Soundclick, I don't believe limits you as to the number of songs.

While each has their own player which can be sketchy, there are also download options, and Soundclick offers a sale feature. (read the fine print. It's a 50/50 split, and no check is sent until you reach $25 in sales.)

Sorry dude.. I have been away working..

I tried to set up an account for Chris who is my business partner in the rehearsal studio. I think I did it right although it needs a while to verify the song I uploaded. It is a cover of Hallelujah though so they might not like it being posted.. cry.gif

It's from a gig above a local pub. The room was small although some of the gig (around 3 1/2 hours recorded) came out quiet well considering live gigs are usually a pain to get a good sound out of, especially when you are trying to mix for the main monitors.

Anyways. Check It Out and see if it worked.. !

I dunno, but it looks like it has not been set up as an artist site. I see no music. Or maybe it just hasn't been uploaded yet.

When I first set up there I went crazy trying to figure out how to load tunes. Then realised I was not set up as a band, but just some guy....

See the player to the right?

That link didn't work for some reason.

I have stepped back from MySpace at the moment as I think the song I uploaded was rejected as it was a cover of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah.. I did upload it Here though (with another tune here..)..

It's a little brash sounding, probably because all that was available for recording on the day was my friends Zoom HD recorder and I haven't spent any time trying to master it in any way..

Anyways. Thanks for the time so far dude.. wink.gif

I have about a dozen of my mediocre songs on websites as free MP3s to promote my music. Unfortunately, it has been a disappointing experience, because no unknown artists get anywhere on the internet. The music industry is moving to the internet, but it is only famous artists with major labels or major independent labels who make money.

I don't charge because MP3s are sonic crap, and it's like busking: cheap, sleazy, and degrading. Also, people under 30 refuse to pay for music and the latest idiotic idea is to attach commercials to songs to generate revenue.

Soundclick.com? Yes, you can upload lots of songs there, but then they disappear. I've complained to them often about this. My songs are on Soundclick, but I cannot find them, so how can anybody else? Fortunately, music videos are prominently accessible on Soundclick.com Other sites allow varying numbers of song uploads. If you pay (!) you can upload more. Most sites do not have music videos. I never listen to other artists' music except for movie soundtracks, and the music websites are a total bore for me. They don't get much traffic, so they must be boring for the consumers as well.

Here are some of the sites where I've uploaded my songs:

Soundclick
CastMP3
DMusic
BeSonic
Bandbuzz
MP3Lizard
Soundsauce.net
Soundmetro
Broadjam
GarageBand
SonicGarden
MySpace
Multiply
FileMoon
Musicians4Bands
MP3Unsigned
AudioStreet
Aristopia
PureVolume
ApolloTunes
CDFuse
MassCharts
Fuzz
EpicTunes
