Hope that you are safe from the fires down there OZ....I see you are on so you must not have had to evacuate.

That is good news.

We have some family friends that have a self-sufficient farm just NE of OKC .They have built this place by hand from recycled wood taken from torn down houses for the past 20 yrs. ..absolutely beautiful .My wife and daughter were out there on Friday with her Brother ,his girlfriend ,Dad ,& Step-Mother.My wife says "Anyone else smell smoke ?".(Enter sound of Chinook flying over ,then loud knock on front door )There is a National Guard guy there saying they should evacuate .My wife loads up the kid and splits .(not before she clicked some pix ,see below..Thats the owner of the farm on the windmill ,and yes it really mills. And thats my car to the left) The rest stayed to fight the fire .They bucket brigaded and hosed ,a fire truck came ,and when it was all over ,the fire got about 40 ft from the house barn etc. on 3 sides .Whew! Everyone is safe ! Steve B.
PS OZ is ok I saw him today ! thumbsup.gif

Guys, there was just a fire that started in my neighbor's yard. There were firemen everywhere over here. It looked like a fairly hot fire to me. It scared me. I'm running out of the house getting a hose and preparing to try to soak my yard. They got it out. I thought we'd be fairly immune her in town but I guess not. Very scary. I've got everything insured that can get covered but you can't insure family mementos.

If you are in Oklahoma right now I highly recommend getting the leaves up and sprinkling the yard. Being in town doesn't make you safe on this one.

Well guys, I am sure you have your hands full. Glad to here you are safe at the moment.

Mr.B that pic speaks volumes. Hopefully the fuel on those 3 sides has burned enough to have been exhausted at you friend's farm.

I never tied the Ghede and Steve B thing together... As I have said to Oz, I want to hear more of your tunes!

Oz, Sounds like you have a grip on the precautions, and doing what you can.

I wish both of you the best of luck, in this worst of circumstances.

Be Safe, and get while the getting is good if it comes to that.
